For my company I redesigned our Intranet home page to include a calendar of events (holidays, deadlines, birthdays, etc.), local weather (from weather.com) and announcements (births, deaths, etc.). The rest was links to reports and tools we need to interact with the our main system, written in FoxPro (shudder). We also included links to the web site, parent company web site, web mail and inportant documentation (forms, employee handbook, references, etc.)
