I still use CFAJAX, but I'm looking at the new framework by the same author:

It has a lot of nice features, since it is a CF wrapper for a number
of popular AJAX-related libraries, like Prototype, Scriptaculous and
JSON. It's really in beta but it's worth adding to any comparison.
