You cannot use the built in MySQL JDBC driver with MySQL 4/5 in Coldfusion -
only 3.23 for 7 I thought they fixed that?

Install mysql-connector-java-5.0.0-beta-bin.jar

then

"jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/xxxx?logger=
com.mysql.jdbc.log.StandardLogger&useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=UTF8&user=xxx&password=xxxx
"

It should work!

try the defaults first with com.mysql.jdbc.log.StandardLogger I think that
fixed the problem
