Brilliant. They deserve eveything they get.

On a similar note, hackers.
Last year our network got taken down by a trojan that some hacker had
installed on a clients server who was outside the firewall (he didn't
believe he needed a firewall). Subsequently the trojan attacked our switches
and routers and screwed up the IP tables with a spoof attacked which meant
the router no longer knew which IP belonged to which server, and made a
right mess I can tell you.

After being up for 48 hours dealing with screaming customers, I finally went
to the pub to have a few well earned brewskies, and overheard some guy
telling his mate how he had hacked into some network and done this and that
and brought the whole thing down.... Needless to say I was in a hacker
killing mood after what had just happened, so I taught him the errors of his
ways.

Ok so 1 is better than 0

Sorry for the off-topic post but this is such great news I hope you all wont
mind ...

The newspapers here are reporting that the Australian Federal Police have
made an arrest of a Queensland con artist under the Anti-spam laws for
sending out more than TWO BILLION emails offering a certain small blue pill
used for enhancing a man's weekend entertainment, so to speak.

Some interesting facts come to light as a result of this arrest .....

He must have been making some serious dosh from this scam, because his
server bill in Holland was to the tune of AUD$14,000 per month (about
US$10,000).

The Dutch server company must have been really worried about being caught
out because they approached the Dutch police, thereby losing themselves a
pretty big customer.

The penalties for large scale spamming in Australia are up to AUD$220,000
PER DAY! for a first offence, and AUD$1,1MILLION PER DAY for a second
offence.

Most commentators here this morning are wishing to have a chance to have a
few hours alone with the guy in a locked room.
