Confirmed.
And I also remember that by that times, one could not reuse the same 
query name twice
in the same template! A new query with the same name wouldn't overwrite 
the previous one.
So can you imagine having a query in a loop, that means you must use 
some dynamic
name workaround for the query.

Needless to say that CF could only handle short loops this way! ;-)
