What about CFHTTP and CFDOCUMENT? Not quite an image, but you may be
able to convert the PDF to an image.

He's not talking about making thumbnails of an image that's already
created.
He wants to make thumbnails of live web pages, like Ask.com does.

Rick Root's image.cfc.  Google that and you'll find a .cfc file with
everything you need
