Hi: Thanks for the reply. I tried the code but in IE 6.0 which I use it doesn't work! I tried Firefox too but no result. The fields and checkbox are visible in the page but there is no fuction when I check the checkbox or uncheck it and there is no validation error. As an example of what I need. I am trying to make an application for "patient registration". There is a patient with cancer. He might have an operation /or not (maybe he is too old for the operation or some other contraindications). If he had an operation then the registrar who is filling the form should check the "Operation check box" then the "operation report fields" (which were hidden) should be shown and the registrar must fill them all (they are required).
