I don't think he has broken any NDA. I think he is just asking the general community if it's possible that blocked popups could be the cause of many installer issues, and if that particular issue should be fixed before the release of CF8.
My guess is that Dan is not on any beta program for CF8, or he would have asked it there. Oh, and who said anything about a beta? ;^) Those things don't really exist, do they? Regarding this issue, however, my main gripe with installing CF7 on Windows 2003 is that IE does not have 127.0.0.1 or localhost in its "safe" list. That security setting got me a couple of times. NDA, NDA.... -----Original Message----- From: Dan Plesse To: CF-Talk Sent: Sun Sep 24 09:31:18 2006 Subject: OT: CF 8 install issue Well it could be an issue for CF 8. If the default browser is set up to block pop-up windows I think configure in-browser window gets never appears and all kinds of problems start happening. I wonder if this was the main issue behind most install issues for CF 7? I also believe people have this feature turned on and forget that it might block that configuring window. Has anyone thought of this before and is it going to be fixed for the next version and include a fix for the next updater? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Introducing the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. 80 pages of hard-hitting, up-to-date ColdFusion information by your peers, delivered to your door four times a year. http://www.fusionauthority.com/quarterly Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/message.cfm/messageid:253988 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.4
