Thanks paul, that's exactly what I was looking for! I'm amazed when I see things like this, where we have many of the built in tools in CF, but are missing what to me seems like very necessary tools and must delve into Java to have access to functions that could and should be wrapped into CF functions. How hard would it be to have a CF function getCurrencySymbol()? CF already knows the locale, so they would simply have to call the underlying Java to return it. Frustration!
