not only that but any work or classes you have created in JAVA can be absorbed 
into CF and now CF developers can have access to the whole extensive JAVA class 
library/applications you have.

I've done this. It is pretty easy. Here is the code:

import coldfusion.server.*;
.....
coldfusion.server.ServiceFactory.getDataSourceService().getDatasource(da
tasourcename).getConnection(); 


Just remember to close up the connection when you're done. :)
