i have just read something on ajax saying that it will only run on browsers
with full xml support, and that safari, and others do not have the full support
then the application may not work on them.

I know that many of my target audiences will be working on mac's. Therefore,
does this mean that i cannot use ajax in my application? if i really need the
functionality that the ajax provides is there another way i can get around
this? is it right that ajax wont be supported in any other browsers other than
FF and IE? and does this mean that i can get around this by using flex 2
instead?

thanks for your help
