Just got off the phone with a ColdFusion developer that is having some
big pains with their ColdFusion server 'dying'. They have an application
which recently became popular. A key part of the software is a flash
based photo uploader - people can sometimes upload as many as 100-200
images. When the photos are uploaded via Flash front end to the
temporary directory the coldfusion backend (in theory) is supposed to
send a trigger back and send the user to the next page (and begin extra
processing, like thumbnail creation).

Despite all files being uploaded to the temp directory, the processing
never gets started. The ColdFusion server (CFMX 6.1) stops responding to
requests (sometimes as often as every 2 hours). There are no logs to
lend a clue - either on the web server (IIS - Windows Server 2003) or
the JVM (an IIS - JVM conversation dropping issue?).

The company isn't just looking for a handout - they are willing to pay
if anyone's help does lead to a solution. If anyone has some ideas on
what may be causing the problems or how to go about debugging what is
happening please let me know and I'd be glad to pass your contact info
on. They're looking for aid ASAP.
