I think that Perl and Python are the most popular languages for
bioninformatics; I doubt you'll find much CF-specific bioinformatics stuff.
Java is also somewhat popular for this, so your best bet might be to work
with Java bioinformatics libraries using CF - CF can be thought of as a very
useful replacement for JSP.

To go off on a slight tangent, I remembered reading one of Steven Erat's
blog entries, about Ray Kurzweil's keynote at a recent bioinformatics
conference, which quotes someone who responded to your question elsewhere!
