I may be biased working at Microsoft and all, but I too had to update and didn't like it. But after working with it for a day or so and getting used to it again, I find it's MUCH better then IE6.
But then again, I'm an evil clone of Gates who is hell bent on taking over the world. :) Seriously though, give it a few days and play around with it. You may find that you like it.
