Not sure what you did to get it working but you can also create tables and
table elements with the createElement() function in javascript (and pretty
much anything else you can think of). DIVs were just an easier example. 

I posted another example of this a while back for multiple file uploads at
once and I'm PRETTY sure I used tables in that one. You could hunt that down
in the archives if you needed.
