If you plan to use VPS, I would also recommend to consider a Linux based 
solution. But nowadays dedicated server prices are also acceptable. You 
can find a Linux dedicated server around 50 USD/month.

I pay 50 Euro/Month for my dedicated box which has Opteron 
146/Win2003Srv/1GB Ram/2x80 GB HDD soft RAID. :)
