I perform highly-accurate E-mail address syntax checking on addresses that people enter, but I want to take it a bit further by attempting to screen out transposition errors by validating that the domain exists, or that there is an MX (mail exchange) record for the domain. Does anyone know of free code that does this email address domain existence checking?
