Peter,

One thing I can think of:   If you can find a way to get into the  
admin check to see that the "Timeout requests after.."  is checked in  
the Settings.

I once accidentally unchecked that box and had something similar  
happen to me .

If you can't get into the Admin after restarting CF, though, there  
could be a bigger problem.   In that case, I might recommend  
installing Fusing Reactor or SeeFusion to see if you can pinpoint if  
there's a thread that's hanging.    I use Fusion Reactor and   the  
crash protection alone is well worth it.
