Just with FTP in general, since your using a firewall "we all do right LOL", you might want to check and make sure you have passive FTP checked in your client settings. Its a little checkbox in dreamweaver and other programs. That might help. I also find that ftp over DSL just sucks and you end up getting wacky connections so if your running over DSL and not cable that could be the issue.
