Ryan, I'm a bit biased, but you may want to check out CFBlog.com. It's currently running on the final beta of the Blogfusion 5 codebase, but it has quite a few of the features you requested below and it's free for CF Developers. Plus you can point your own domain name at your blog, if you wish. To some of your points below regarding what you like about Wordpress.
> WordPress has some additional things I like, such as image > upload tools with auto thumbnail generation - Image upload and auto thumbnails - Yes in the Photoblog admin. - For posts, I prefer to embed and upload via XMLRPC (I use Ecto which does auto-upload, resizing, and thumbs), but adding auto- thumbnails is a good idea within the WYSIWYG (Note to self...). > a nice image browser to choose images to drop into your post - Depending on which of the available WYSIWYG editors you choose, each has a decent file manager. A custom one is on the menu for a future upgrade, though. > you can easily create pages, not > just posts - Slated for a ".1" upgrade release, but CFBlog will most likely get that upgrade in the not-too-distant future. > and a full theme system with lots of themes available. - Blogfusion has 4 included themes which can be selected in the admin, but the CSS is completely customizable so that you can skin directly from within the admin without touching a file. > I like the ability to have drafts of several posts going > at once, work on them over time and them publish them when I'm ready. - Blogfusion has both delayed publishing and multiple drafts. You can schedule a post to go live on a specific date and time and forget it (i.e. - Happy Holidays posts). > > There are lots of plugins available to make it do whatever you want > (such as the nice "subscribe" feature that BlogCFC has built in). - See http://cfblog.com/cfblog/index.cfm/id/Modu_licious > And > the admin tools are just really pretty. ;-) - Agreed. Wordpress has some nice eye candy in the admin. Stay tuned! :-) Feel free to shoot me an e-mail off-list if you have any questions.
