I'm straight relative. I don't like the idea of rebuilding a crashed server and trying to get all the mappings in place before anything works.
That decision also has a lot to do with the structure of the applications here. !k -----Original Message----- From: Casey Dougall [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, November 29, 2006 5:43 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: Re: Relative(document) vs site root paths Relative paths for anything that sits below the webroot and absolute paths for anything accessible from the browser. Why make it harder on your self. If it's a tough directory to get to, meaning it's 3 or 4 levels deep might as well make a mapping for it and call it a day. #ApplicationWebRoot#/Directory/File.cfm or ../../../../../Directory/File.cfm - yuck. I like relative. Relative work better with cfincludes and don't require creating a mapping in the cfadmin. I've been raised on raltive paths. I have a newbie that is using site root paths. I've read the help files and they tell you to chose what you're most comfortbale with. Please post your thoughts.
