Try this:

 <!--- Request Impact Area List --->
<select name="impact_area">
   <cfoutput query="getImpactAreas">
     <option value="#key_code#" <cfif
trim(lcase(getImpactAreas.key_code)) EQ
trim(lcase(getchangerequests.impactarea))>selected</cfif>>#key_desc#</op
tion>
</cfoutput>
</select>

I have been trying to figure out why the value that is in both tables is
not
being shown as the one that is being initally displayed.

The select box is still working but there is current;y no value
displayed as
the selected value.

Any ideas on this one.

Thanks in advance

getchangerequests.impactarea>selected</cfif>>#key_desc#</option>
</cfoutput>
</select>
