You would just run your query to update the count at the same time you run the cfontent tag to push the file to the user. Running the query just AFTER the cfcontent tag would let you know that every count was atleast a prompt to download the file. They could still be counted and simply hit close or concel on the download prompt or even download half of the file and then cancel though. I don't think you are going to get around that in any easy way. If you do though, by all means let us know how :-)
