First he never said he was using a beta product, third I have seen people
complain about bugs and things when they really didn't understand the
application itself. Studio is no exception on this either, it has bugs and
if people are not willing to perservere then how is Allaire going to fix
problems if nobody will report them, and you can't report them if you don't
use the product.
I too had the beta of studio (4.5.1 beta 1) erase files of my work, but I
learnt very quickly what the problem was and it was a very rare case where
the save as didn't work and it just saved the file over the top of another.
But I found the work around very quickly, I have also used studio for over 3
years now and I have to say for what the product offers it is complicated
but a very good tool when you know what your doing!

Subject: RE: RDS & ColdFusion Studio Problem
I recently had studio (4.5.2 beta 2) completely erase all the contents of a
file.... the result of 3 days of work. No fun losing 3 days like that, but
what can you do. If you're using a beta product and are concerned about the
potential for these sort of occasional mishaps, stop using a beta version.
I know some people who rolled their studios back to 4.0.1, because it was a
very stable version compared to recent builds. Anyway, I figure studio's
features have still saved me more time than they've cost me, all in all.

Hi Jeff,
I have that same problem and in fact have reported it to Allaire. They
were unable to come up with a solution and after a few weeks
put the call into a "bug report".
I have not heard anything from them since.
I do not have IE running at as as we are not an IE shop.
Sorry that I can't offer any bright rays of hope for a solution.
I am currently using Samba to map a drive to my Unix server since
FTP&RDS doesn't work.
