What she probably has is a program written by someone trying to
impress her for brownie or promotional points and has managed to
convince her that it's CF and not the programmer that is the problem.

I dealt with a situation once where the client had a brother who was a
mediocre .NET guy. I built an app for the client. A year and a half
later I get a call from the client saying that the app is broken and
hearing the usual anti-CF tirade. After asking him what was going
wrong (database errors all over the place) I heard him say, "but the
report my brother wrote still pulls up the old data."

I asked him what his brother had done and when he said he didn't know
I promised to look into it. Turns out that his brother had changed
field names in EVERY DATABASE TABLE. When I confronted the brother he
said, "He didn't like how the column headers in my report were
squished together without spaces, so I changed them." The guy had
changed the database instead of the report.
