I am trying to connect to a MySQL database running on a remote linux server from CFMX7.
When I setup the connection using the Microsoft ODBC utility, everything works great. When I attempt to setup the connection with the CFMX Data Sources utility, using the exact same settings, it fails with the following error: Connection verification failed for data source: cluster2 java.sql.SQLException: Communication failure during handshake. Is there a server running on syngene65.ics.uci.edu:3306? The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: Communication failure during handshake. Is there a server running on syngene65.ics.uci.edu:3306? Do I need to use the CFMX data sources utility instead of the Microsoft ODBC facility, and, if so, any idea as to why this is failing would be most appreciated.
