You can only install SQL Server Developer edition (not the same as the MSDE) on an XP machine (not standard etc)
Failing that install MSDE "This e-mail is from Reed Exhibitions (Gateway House, 28 The Quadrant, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 1DN, United Kingdom), a division of Reed Business, Registered in England, Number 678540. This sucks since this is a laptop that I do development on, and my main SQL Server is home on my server. Has anyone had this problem and is there a solution? Do I need to downgrade my machine to Windows 2000? Thanks, -- Bruce Sorge ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Create robust enterprise, web RIAs.
