Your perspective is a bit backwards. The exact point of security
measures like this is to prevent developers from doing things that, if
used maliciously, could harm the end user of a site. 

You are not the end user here - you are the developer. It's not about
YOUR computer; it's about the computers of everyone else who may use
your site.
