You don't have to be an employee to not be amused at stealing software,
maybe people may find it funny because it happened to be Microsoft but I
don't see how stealing a fellow codes work is amusing.

Consider how much time and money Microsoft is spending on anti-piracy, and
here is the head of a country telling Gates that thanks to the easy of
pirating software his country is on the fast track to being technically
relevant. I suppose if you were a high-level Microsoft employee, or perhaps
even the founder of the company, you may not find it very amusing. But I do
and I am sure there are others who do as well.
