Sounds like a Garbage Collection, probably due to not enough memory or incorrect collection type. Do you have SeeFusion/FusionReactor? You may also want to look into something called VisualGC from Sun to debug.

The Problem: Every 10 to 15 minutes pages on my site start to take anywhere from 8 seconds to more than 100 seconds to be processed. It appears to happen sporadically - no pattern that i can see. This will continue for a duration of anywhere from 15 seconds to 10 minutes or so. Then, for no apparent reason everything goes back to normal The Environment: Server: Windows Server 2003 Web Server: IIS 6 Coldfusion: 7.02 Standard - with latest hotfix applied Database: MS SQL 2000 on another server Software: Site is built in PaperThin's CommonSpot CMS, version 4.6 SP2 Debug Resources: I posted some info in case that helps CF Debug: Normal Page Load - http://www.pba.edu/zzz/pbadebug/normal_faculty.cfm.htm Slow Page Load - http://www.pba.edu/zzz/pbadebug/slow_faculty.cfm.htm Reactor Reports: Slow Pages - http://www.pba.edu/zzz/pbadebug/reactor_slow_period.jpg Back to Normal - http://www.pba.edu/zzz/pbadebug/reactor_back_to_normal.jpg What I have Tried: - Checked the log files, there doesn't seem to be anything that corresponds to these time periods. Pages don't generate an error, they just take a long time to display. - Checked server stats - cpu and memory use stay at a normal/low level. - Coldfusion memory stays at a good level around 20% (you can see in the reactor images) - Monitored the SQL server - doesn't seem to be any correlation between heavy load on the sql server/database and the slow downs - - upgraded the jdbc driver to 3.5. - checked to see if it was related to heavy traffic - i don't believe so, it happens sometimes at 3am. That's all I can think of right now. I've been trying to debug it for 3 days now - just trying to trace it down to the cause but nothing i have looked at so far seems to correspond to the slow downs. If anyone can suggest some things I can look at I would really appreciate it. Or if I can provide more information let me know and i'll be glad to do so.
