Assuming that

"We can get IIS"

Should have been

"We can't get IIS"

You probably have the default website listening to localhost, try stopping
the default website, or setup the other website to listen to specific hosts,
like www.yourdomain.com and browse that.

Subject: Really Simple(I think) IIS Issue

We recently configured a new server, windows 2003.  We can get IIS to serve
even basic htm pages.  The file system and web security on the folder is
wide open and still nothing.  If I type localhost:80 it does bounce back to
localhost w/o the :80.  I'm sure that there is something simple that we're
missing but we can't seem to see what it is.  All of the IIS and WWW
services are running.  Anyone have any ideas why this isn't working?
