Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has ever figured out a way to throttle the CPU
usage of the CF service (in MX 6.1), or if anyone knows of a 3rd party tool
that can do this. Basically what we want is to have multiple instances, and
throttle one instance to a max of 75% of CPU available and another instance
to 20% of CPU availability and that would leave 5% available for non-CF
services. What we want to do is to be able to do our indexing (which spikes
the cpu usage to 100%) at the same time as regular web usage is occuring on
the same box. So we would assign the second service (the 20%) to do
indexing and leave the 75% of the CPU usage avialable for web serving.

Any thoughts/ideas/other suggestions (other than a separate server to
index). We are indexing large amounts of binary files as well as alot of
data and doing it on the same box and same instance as our application
server slows down performance of the web page delivery speed.

Thanks,

Dave
