There is no work around, if you want to use the com objects for word and excel
they MUST be installed on the server.

Subject: Word and Excel file not working in CF

I have a survey that the user can get results in Excel or Word. The file
works fine on my laptop (I have Word and Excel installed) but when I try to
do this on my server, I get the errorCannot create Excel Object
Make sure Excel is installed and that ColdFusion has permissions to use the
Excel COM objectsDo I have to have these apps installed on the server? If
so, is there a workaround? I know that my hosting company (Go Daddy) does
not have Word or Excel installed on their servers.

Thanks
