Ok, I'm getting strange SMTP errors, so I'm going to try reposting some of
these replies from the website.

There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server.

Not that I don't trust you (I actually highly value your opinion on the list)
but do you have any good resources to prove that point? (hardware > software)

Our hardware load balancer does allow us to remove one server from the balancer
during the day, but with the absence of shared sessions, it kicks everyone off
and they have to log in again. That isn't seamless.

Are you suggesting a combination of hardware AND software balancing?

Any articles, and how-to's would be much appreciated. I love hearing the
opinions on the list, but my original request was for reading material to get
some more in-depth explanations.

Thanks!

~Brad

Clustering requires software. Load balancing is better done with hardware than
software, and you should be able to pull a server from active duty by
preventing new connections at the hardware device.
