Comodo offers a very nice free anti-virus program. It's been known to give some false positives, but it's better to be safe then sorry:
http://www.comodo.com/products/free_products.html There is also clamwin, which is based off ClamAV. ClamAV is used by thousands of email servers around the world to filter email from viruses.
