Comodo offers a very nice free anti-virus program. It's been known to
give some false positives, but it's better to be safe then sorry:

There is also clamwin, which is based off ClamAV. ClamAV is used by
thousands of email servers around the world to filter email from
viruses. The clamwin software uses the same concept but on the system level.
