Check out the filereader.cfc over at http://www.informationsavvy.com/coldfusion/. This uses Java classes to read the file line by line instead of having to buffer the whole file in memory. This might allow you to manage your resources a little better. But I agree with Ben in that the majority of your work could be done using a Stored Proc once the data has been placed in a temporary table.
