You couldn't use developers edition it would be a violation of the
license, they would need a license for each and every machine the
application is running on.

Access is also a horrible method of doing something like this. I'm not
sure how VBA forms handle file interactions, but what VBA experience I
do have has left me scarred and crying in the corner :)

You would most likely want a standalone desktop application written in
C# or Java that has export capabilities, however, if it were me I would
fight with them about getting internet connectivity, I mean if this is
really a national chain the money shouldn't be prohibitive, and they can
get all kinds of other benefits out of it.

Finally, you mentioned Apollo in your subject, have you taken a look at
the Apollo beta at:

Subject: CF Offline Application like Apollo

All,

Our company is planning a nationwide photo contest (for kids) and we're
partnering with a large "get your professional photos in the mall" store
from chain.
The store front chain has computers at each location, but they do not
have internet
connectivity. Has anyone every built an app that would work as a stand
alone app,
then when they are done, they could send us the files on disk with all
the user information
associated in the database?

I was thinking two scenarious. Use Access and build the front end ini
Access. Or
have them install the developer's edition with a Access file, but I
think that would be overkill.

Any ideas on how this could be done?

Thanks.
D
