I am writing some test apps using Transfer ORM, and trying to decide if
I'm ready to take the plunge and use a framework for a new auction
application. I'm starting from scratch, so now is the time to do it,
but I worry that a steep learning curve to some of those MVC concepts
will slow me down, when the customer needs to have a quick development
turnaround.

I have watched the Transfer ORM presentation, read through Sean
Corfield's presentation on different frameworks (I don't understand the
difference between implicit and explicit invocation). I have been
writing OO code for years now, and I enjoy the encapsulation that CFC's
give me, but so far I have not been able to make the comprehensive leap
to using frameworks. Mostly, due to a lack of understanding some of the
terminology used.

Did you just *click* one day and have MVC understanding flood in, or did
you struggle like I seem to be doing? I am all about doing things right
from the beginning, and I have a window of time to gain an understanding
about these and I want to use it!

So: What is a singleton?
What does implicit / explicit invocation mean?
What attributes does 'procedural' code have over any other code?
What is an implicit event queue?
Will the use of Transfer limit what framework I can operate in?

Any help or description would be appreciated. I know I'm probably
re-hashing a topic that has come up a lot, but the concepts just aren't
clicking in my brain yet =(
