Not only the compiler.. the compiler, command line debugger, and all the
libraries - including some for which source was not previously provided.

You're right though, the design mode stuff would probably all be pretty
tricky.

But I think it'd be great to have a free "Flex Builder" plugin that included
compiling, debugging, code completion and hinting and all that jazz... even
without the GUI design mode.

I think the $500 IDE is price prohibitive for many developers.
