What about cfinvoking a method in an already persisted object, I.e. Using
component="#application.foo#"

I've never noticed any, but I haven't done extensive testing. I use 
CreateObject for any cfc object I am persisting, and cfinvoke for minor 
utility methods where I don't need to persist an object.
