Quite simply, .NET is far more widespread in usage, therefore there are far more jobs.
Now, if the question is why .NET is more widespread than CF, here's a couple of quick reasons: 1. .NET is not just a web development technology. It can also be used for Windows desktop apps, embedded and mobile apps, etc. so it has a much broader set of use cases. (yes, I know CF doesn't HAVE to be used for just web development, but it's not general purpose in the way .NET is, and web development is clearly the primary purpose) 2. Microsoft has a far longer history producing programming languages/environments, and therefore a much larger legacy installed base. A legacy Visual C++ or VB shop is more likely to simply "update" to new MS technologies than switch to something entirely different. 3. If you have already bought a Microsoft OS (which is, as we no, a largish market), then you already have the ability to run .NET code. We can argue long term cost of ownership, etc., but this appearance of being "free", and the ubiquity of it certainly helps grow the user base. Add these up, and you have a lot more .NET work being done, and therefore jobs being available to those wishing to do it. None of this means CF is not a great choice if it meets your needs, and there are good CF jobs to be had, but you can't expect CF to ever catch up to .NET in terms of sheer size of the installed base. It's an apples - oranges comparison. On 6/25/07, [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Can someone please tell me why there are more .Net job than cf jobs?
