On the topic of godaddy certs, I just recently bought one and installed yesterday. It worked out of the box for firefox, but apparently I missed an installation step which tells you to disable one of the godaddy certs on the server. Once that was done, it was working fine in IE.
The guy at starfieldtech (this is where godaddy certs come from) was quick to pinpoint the problem, but was pretty rude and wouldn't explain why the certificate needed to be disabled. I'm still not clear on what happened, but the cert seems to be working fine now.
