For me... and of course I am the only one whom I can talk on behalf of... I got the most out of the study group here in Nashville that Aaron West so diligently lead. It also helped that I won the free cert coupon because I attended every one of the sessions.
I don't know if it really holds much clout but I would have to say that if you are trying to get a job and you are up against someone who is not certified odds are that a manager is going to swing favorably in your way. That being said I know a LOT of great developers that have never gone and gotten the certification... does that make me better then them? nope! -J.J.
