You just activate it.  I have a copy of XP that I was having issues activating 
and hod no probs and this was maybe 2-3 months ago.

I called XP activation and they could not help me. Called MAPS support and was 
told because Vista was out XP was no longer supported by MAPS, and I need to 
upgrade. If you have found a way around this I would love to hear it! Like most 
I am not thrilled with Vista! And IIS6 is the very worst part of Vista.
