It's not broke. Not really. This is a mailing list, not a forum. IT has a web-based archive, and you can probably write code to prevent emails from being published in there, *BUT* this is still a mailing list, and if you want to participate, then you're sharing your email with the rest of us. It's hard to strip emails from list contents, because I might say that I'd like you to email me off list at [EMAIL PROTECTED], and I wouldn't want *THAT* stripped. And since mail clients all differ in the way they quote messages, it becomes extremely difficult. In an earlier message, you said "Spam is avoidable if care is taken and I see no particular reason that my email address should be put in the outgoing emails." There is - because that's how a mailing list works. You can go to the coldfusion support forums at adobe.com if you want a forum. I want a mailing list, and am willing to accept the consequences of being on a mailing list. Here's a solution for you: #1 - subscribe with an email address that you can check, but that you do not use for anything else. #2 - set your subscription options to web only - so you don't get email #3 - use the web interface to interact with the list. #4 - if you want people to reply off list, use your real email address and obfusicate it however you want. rick dot root at webworksllc dotcom. That solves YOUR personal problem, without messing up the list for the rest of us who LIKE The email list format and who don't mind publishign our email address to the others on the list.
