Since Vista is not a server OS, I would not recommend its use for this purpose. If you want disk-based encryption, there are all sorts of proven applications that will give you similar functionality. For example, I use Truecrypt (http://www.truecrypt.org/), which is a free, open-source disk encryption application. I don't use it to secure the entire contents of my hard drive, though, so if my laptop was stolen and someone took the time to determine my password (which is pretty easy to do in most cases if you have physical control of the machine), they would be able to gain access to the unencrypted stuff. I believe that Bitlocker encrypts the whole drive, but haven't played with that at all. That said, these things are of questionable utility on a server, which requires access to disk volumes by various running processes with constant logins, etc. The better approach is to take care of your physical security problems. If your client can't secure their own servers, they should outsource that to a hosting provider who can.
