Hello Guys, Wow, well I'm glad to see this got such a great response, thank you all for your suggestions, they're greatly appreciated. The FTP site was defiantly not anywhere near the root of my C: drive, in fact it was on a totally different drive and quite a few levels down from the root.
There was also not any actual files copied onto the system, simple really, really deep folder structures, so I'm feeling quite safe that nothing was compromised, I certainly wouldn't have executed anything even if it has been there. With that being the case I chose not to go for a reformat, it would have been too much of a PITA to have done that at the moment, so I'll keep a close eye on the box, if anything starts being odd then I'll be sure to clear it all off. Thanks for that advice Neil, It has certainly made me consider that option. Dave, My bad with dir /x command, I got confused about that and thought you were just asking for a standard dir command on my folder 'x' :-D after running the dir x command this morning it displayed the true name for those directories, and as suggested by Chris the folder with 'no name' was actually made up from unprintable characters, something like s2020~, as soon as I used the rd /s command the folders deleted without any hassle. Thank you guys again for your help on this, it's now nice and clean, the site root has been moved to another directory and the ftp secured on another port with authentication. Thanks chaps, I would buy you all a pint, but to be honest I'm not that rich :-D Rob -----Original Message----- From: Dharmesh Goel [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 12 July 2007 22:44 To: CF-Talk Subject: RE: Im Ashamed But Need Help Hi Robert, Try logging into your ftp site with ws_ftp and deleting files using ws_ftp. I had done this many years back with unix system that had garbage file names. Good luck. However I'm not able to delete them when logged into the server as an admin, it just says the file name I've specified is invalid or too long. Any ideas on how I can get rid of this stuff?
