Thanks for the replies. That is sort of what I was afraid it was doing (I thought it would error gracefully and not actually lock the variables for the app). Sadly, the session vars are used elsewere in this app so I think the original developer made a little error but the good part is I get to rewrite this whole section. Now to just figure out why he would reset them in the exact same manner (erroneously) so many times in so many places....
