I have a problem with our database server. We have a database that we load from text files every day... the db itself is about 9 gb. The log settings is "bulk logged" and I don't perform backups.
Unfortunately, it still logs SOME stuff... and the transaction log is now 55 gig.... Problem is... I have no room on the server now to perform a transaction log backup, and I can't shrink the file because it's pretty much all allocated. How do I get rid of the transaction log? Can I detach the database and then re-attach it without the log file? -- Rick Root Check out CFMBB, BlogCFM, ImageCFC, ImapCFC, CFFM, and more at www.opensourcecf.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Macromedia ColdFusion MX7 Upgrade to MX7 & experience time-saving features, more productivity. http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion?sdid=RVJW Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/message.cfm/messageid:284186 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.4
