Hi Mark, I've been away for a couple of days, I've just seen your post. The long and short of it is that we have a client that has some sort of data feed process that requires that any given content that goes into their database has to be sorrounded by <p> tag. Unfortunately I have not influence on their data submission process. So I've had to submit sets of xml to them filled with the invalid HTML. Hope it makes sense :-) cos I couldn't and still can't make any sense of it myself.
